Head of Preformance & Insights

Band 8A (£60,126 to £64,906 per annum)

Location: Office Based at Ailsa Hospital and requirement for travel within Board area

Full time, fixed-term 6 months


The NHS Ayrshire & Arran Directorate of Transformation and Sustainability is seeking to recruit to the role of Head of Performance and Insights as a development opportunity within the Directorate for a six month period. The postholder will:

  • Provide senior-level leadership and data insights expertise, working collaboratively with service leads and digital colleagues; in addition to wider organisational leadership such as members of CMT.
  • Maintain and widen knowledge of emerging data insights solutions such as the Power BI platform to ensure the Directorate of Transformation and Sustainability utilises new technologies as appropriate for supporting data-based decisions and enhancing analytical capabilities.
  • Engage with service leads, clinicians and associated teams to actively promote the value of high-quality data insights and provide appropriate education and training around how to best utilise the information.
  • Scope the opportunities that could form part of a data insights strategy and function, and the associated resource required.


The contract location of this role is Ailsa Hospital, however, we have adopted a distributed working approach to how we work dependent on service need.
