Job Advert

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, dynamic individuals for the post of Motion Analysis Laboratory (MAL) Coordinator at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. The post holder will have responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the MAL as a clinical and research resource. A primary focus will be conducting patient assessments, both for standard diagnostic care and as part of research studies. This includes collecting, processing, analysing, and reporting biomechanical data, while ensuring the MAL is maintained in an operational state.

The post holder will work closely with the Orthopaedic Research Support Group to coordinate research study participants for MAL assessments. They will be expected to contribute significantly to the research output of the Orthopaedic Department through various activities, including the writing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication, assisting with the preparation of grant proposals and the development of partnerships with universities and industry.

The unit has established academic links with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and with the University of Glasgow, offering the potential for new or continued work towards a higher degree.

The role requires effective collaboration with clinical and research staff across the department, including regular liaison with academic and industry partners. The post holder will also be responsible for public engagement activities and may be required to provide training and supervision to students and staff.
