An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Renal Team in NHS Fife. This post is predominantly based within the Renal service at Victoria Hospital.
We require a Renal Support Worker for the Renal Outpatient unit. We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate individual who have a willingness to learn. Previous experience in venepuncture, cannulation and preparation of patients for procedures would be desirable.
SVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care is preferred and or evidence of ongoing learning.
Once individuals have completed the relevant training they may be expected to participate in the renal Service Rotational Programme.
As a Renal Support worker you will be expected to assist the registered nurse with the delivery of Patient centered care.
This is a very diverse role with a range of different duties.
All members of staff may be required to participate in rotation in each of the following areas of the renal service:
• Wd 22 Renal Outpatient Dialysis unit Victoria Hospital
• Satellite dialysis unit Ward 21 Queen Margaret Hospital
• Satellite dialysis unit St Andrews Community Hospital
• In patient ward 22 Victoria Hospital
If successful in your application, you will be offered the opportunity to undertake an SVQ2 or SVQ3 (dependent on band) in Health and Social Care, approximately 9 months after taking up post. It is expected that you complete this qualification, which will be fully funded by NHS Fife. Your Line Manager will provide you with more information once you are in post.
