FIXED TERM MATERNITY LEAVE COVER


The Department of Medical Laboratory Science at Dr Gray’s Hospital has a vacancy for a fixed term full time Senior Biomedical Scientist, band 7.


Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientists who have HCPC registration and experience within Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology or Blood Transfusion Laboratories. The applicant will hold an Honours B.Sc. and preferably higher degree (M.Sc.) or IBMS Higher Specialist Diploma.


The Department is a multidisciplinary laboratory, accepted by MHRA to be generally compliant with the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations and provides Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, limited Microbiology and Blood Transfusion services to Dr Gray’s Hospital. It is a satellite of the main Clinical Biochemistry and Haematology laboratories sited at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, both of whom hold full UKAS accreditation.


The successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic with good leadership qualities and must be able to demonstrate current continuing professional development. They will have good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge, well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working.
