Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a permanent, full time position.

The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Urology department.

To provide a comprehensive typing service to the Urological clinical team. Working in the busy Urology department you will join a team of staff dedicated to providing a high standard of patient care as well as supporting the secretarial team. Occasional assistance in other admin roles may be required within the service. Although working as part of the team is essential, you will also need to work using own initiative and on occasion without supervision. This role is interesting and challenging as much of the work is urgent and timely completion of work plays an important part in the patient's pathway ensuring that other health care professionals are fully aware of the patient's treatment and condition. The role is largely audio typing using a digital dictation system and experience of working as a medical audio typist is desirable.

You will also be required to

· use your own initiative and competency whilst exercising a high degree of confidentiality.
· be responsible for scheduling your own workload to ensure typing is
done within turnaround targets.
· be responsible for producing accurate outcome sheets for the relevant
secretaries to act on which will include being proactive in understanding
how to pull such data from dictation.

· resolve problems including incorrect or unclear dictation.
