NHS Lothian

Clinical Fellow in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation

NHS Lothian is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.

To this end, NHS Lothian welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

This post offers the opportunity to spend 12 months in the Scottish Liver Transplant Unit and Liver unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

It would be most suitable for a specialty registrar level doctor with previous experience of hepatology and/or liver transplantation.

The post has been created to support the increasing activity of the liver transplant unit both for in and outpatients and also to support the GI registrar specialist out of hour’s rota.

The post will involve both inpatient and outpatient care as well as specialist clinics and endoscopy training appropriate to stage of training (and could include ERCP and/or EUS if appropriate).

The on call rota is on a 1 in 10 basis which attracts a 1A banding supplement (This post does not have educational approval for training).
