The Urology service has led the way in delivering an innovative and excellent service, as well as providing a wide range of urological diagnostic and treatments, the service has been pivotal in implementing new treatments for the management of benign prostate issues, this has enabled NHS Fife the opportunity to expand this service nationally throughout Scotland, thus ensuring inclusivity across the nation.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to complement our existing nursing team in achieving the best care for our service users. They must be committed, self motivated, forward thinking and have a passion for delivering high quality patient focused care. You must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to perform this role safely and efficiently. There is the opportunity for either a permanent or fixed term post for 12 months*

Our Nursing team works closely and in partnership with the Urology Consultants and the Urology Clinical Nurse Specialists to promote and deliver high quality, evidence based patient care. The successful applicant will be supporting the clinicians by assisting with diagnostic and assessment treatments, it is also expected to work autonomously under the supervision of the RN as well as hone their enhanced skills with a view to delivering nurse led clinics alongside all other routine work.

Candidates should be enthusiastic, dynamic, caring and compassionate, with a keen interest in urological nursing. You should be self motivated, and strive to deliver high quality patient focused care. You should be educated to SVQII level and are required to achieve SVQIII or equivalent. You should be able to evidence excellent interpersonal skills and have previous experience as a Healthcare Support Worker, preferably within a urology or out-patient setting, however further training can provided if necessary.

This is a chance to fully develop and further enhance skills and knowledge you may already possess. You should be interested in developing further within the role. You must have the ability to work with people and as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as the ability to reprioritise your workload due to unpredictable demand. The opportunity will also be available to rotate into Ward 54 (Urology) to gain further acute urological experience.

You will be expected to have an excellent working knowledge of the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
