This is an exciting opportunity to work in our 24 bedded community custody unit. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a highly specialist psychological assessment service for the women in the unit. The post holder will be integral to shaping the trauma informed clinical model and providing training and supervision to NHS and SPS staff. The post holder will work alongside the wider peripatetic clinical psychology provision in the three GG&C prisons. The Clinical Psychology Interventions Service in prison healthcare (PHC) operates within the Adult Mental Health Services of NHSGG&C. Members of the service lead on or contribute to various aspects of the running of prison healthcare and contribute similarly to the wider psychology network across the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde area, according to their managerial, research or clinical expertise. There are close links with the University of Glasgow Clinical Psychology Training Programme and members of the psychology service contribute to the teaching, support and supervision of trainees. It is essential you have a Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology with current Registration with the HCPC as a clinical psychologist.
