NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in both the community and child protection service. This is a Clinical Fellow post available from 6th August 2025 for 12 months.

The post would entail working in a busy District General Hospital in General Paediatrics at the University Hospital Wishaw.

You would participate on the junior rota (tier 1) providing first on call responsibilities for paediatrics. You would be working alongside other junior trainees and supported by senior trainees, SAS doctors and consultants. You would be involved in assessment of patients referred to acute paediatrics, and involved in care of those patients admitted to the ward. You would gain experience in paediatric procedures and gain experience in how to manage common paediatric presentations. There are opportunities to attend consultant outpatient clinics from a variety of specialties which include respiratory, endocrine, diabetes, allergy etc.

Scheduled weekly teaching sessions include weekly grand round and Thursday consultant teaching. Although not a recognized training post you would receive similar training to those in training posts.
