Scottish Ambulance Service – Driver
We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic and motivated Drivers/Vaccination Clinic Support Officers based within our Mobile Vaccination Unit Team. We are looking for bank staff for each region in Scotland – East,West and North.
Staff are required support as and when basis, mainly weekdays with occasional weekend work. Shift length will vary depending on Healthboard requirements for SAS support.
Reporting to the Vaccination Team Lead for the region, you will be required to drive the vaccination vehicle to the vaccination clinic locations each day and assist with setting up/packing down the clinic including tables/chairs/gazebo. Candidates must hold a clean driving license with categories C1 and/or D1. Prior experience of working within logistics/fleet in NHS or SAS is desirable.
The vaccination vehicle will be based at Inverness workshop/Edinburgh City workshop and Cumbernauld/Clydebank stations so it this role may appeal to postholders living close to these areas.
The postholder must be able to drive long distances in a Patient Transport Vehicle and be willing to stay overnight on location in order to set up a clinic on time. During clinic hours it is expected that the postholder will work alongside the vaccination team to meet/greet the public, run errands to transport items such as PPE using vehicles provided by SAS, and assist with setting up/packing down of each clinic.
You will be exposed, on occasions, to sensitive information and therefore the post holder will have awareness of Patient Confidentiality and hold a PVG certificate. Experience with working with the public and patients is desirable.
