Medical Administrator – 37 hours p/week

Old Machar Medical Practice, Aberdeen

Reports to: Office Manager

Job Overview:

The Medical Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient running of the practice. This position involves providing high-quality administrative support to the clinical and management teams, ensuring excellent patient service, and maintaining accurate and confidential records. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, and photocopying documents.
  • Signposting patients to the right care, right place.
  • Handle incoming calls and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Reception duties, including greeting patients and scheduling appointments.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting and distributing correspondence.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient records

Key Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Previous experience within an administrative role would be advantageous.

Proposed Working Hours: Tuesday 0800 – 1730, Wednesday 0800 – 1800, Thursday 0800 – 1730, Friday 0800 – 1800.
