The shift pattern for this post is to be confirmed. Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a band 6 Registered Nurse (Child) with a special interest in Cleft lip and palate to join the National Cleft Surgical Service for Scotland. This is a part time post (22 hours) delivered over 3 days with core hours being between 8am -4pm Monday to Friday. The post holder, following appropriate time and training, will be expected to be part of on-call service covering weekends and public holidays.

We are seeking an experienced nurse who will embrace this opportunity. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner who will manage their own caseload and the individual needs of patients and their carers. The cleft lip and palate clinical nurse specialists (CNS) provide support for families following prenatal and postnatal diagnosis of cleft lip and/or palate until completion of treatment at the Children’s Hospital. Cleft CNS work within the multidisciplinary team to ensure there is an effective, efficient and holistic service for children born with a cleft lip and/or palate and their carers. The post holder will work independently, within community and hospital settings throughout Scotland. They will demonstrate a sound understanding of the issues related to the identification, assessment, treatment and management of our families.
