The shift pattern for this post is is between 08:00 - 20:00 / 09:00 - 21:00 / 08:45 - 16:45 / 09:00 - 17:00 / 14:30 - 22:00 and 20:00 - 08:00
Applications are invited for four enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers to join our dedicated friendly team of Specialist Paediatric Radiographers in Glasgow. The posts are based at the Royal Hospital for Children (RHC), specialising in paediatric healthcare for children and young people from birth up to their 16th birthday.
The hospital is recognised as one of the leading Paediatric training centres in the UK with access to all specialties including Cardiac, Craniofacial, Molecular Therapy, Neurosurgery, and a high Neonatal workload in the adjoining Maternity Hospital. For several services, RHC is recognised as the sole provider in Scotland.
The department provides dedicated paediatric imaging with the following equipment profile, two MRI Scanners, a high specification Cardiac CT Scanner, Cardiac Cath Lab, an Interventional Radiology Suite, Fluoroscopy Room, and several Plain Film x-ray rooms. There is a SPECT CT Gamma Camera, a DEXA Scanner, as well as numerous Ultrasound machines, Mobile Fluoroscopy and Mobile X-ray Units.
The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow forms part of the West of Scotland Trauma Network, and as a Paediatric Major Trauma Centre, provides the full range of imaging services including fast tracked access to CT.
The Radiology department strives to provide excellent patient focussed care while providing an innovative learning environment to enable the successful candidate to develop exceptional skills and knowledge in a wide range of Specialist Paediatric Imaging Modalities
Once in post, full training will be provided for the successful applicant. You will be required to participate in a department shift system covering the service 24/7. There will be a commitment to seven days working over an extended day, and therefore a flexible approach is required. It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences with a current registration with the HCPC. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
