Speciality Radiographer (Rotational Posts)
Band 6 – Imaging – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Imaging Directorate within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. We are currently recruiting Band 6 Specialist Radiographers for rotational posts, with vacancies across all sectors.
These posts are suitable for experienced Radiographers ready to progress into a Band 6 role or those already working at a Band 6 equivalent level. The post supports continued professional development and clinical specialisation while participating in a structured cross-site rotation programme across a range of imaging modalities.
About the Role
As a Band 6 Radiographer, you will:
- Deliver high-quality imaging services across a variety of patient pathways including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and theatre imaging.
- Supervise, support and provide leadership to junior radiographic staff and students.
- Contribute to service improvement, clinical audit, and staff training within your rotation.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental CPD activities.
- Support the wider imaging team in ensuring delivery of a safe and effective radiology service, in line with local and national standards.
Depending on your rotation and sector you will have the opportunity to train and work within advanced modalities including CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology and Neurointerventional Radiology. You shall also undertake core training and rotation into Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy, and Theatre imaging.

All sectors operate a cross-site rotational hub and spoke model designed to enhance breadth and depth of skills, offering exposure to both general and more specialised imaging environments.

Requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent (e.g. DCR), with current HCPC registration.
- Evidence of recent CPD and/or modality-specific experience desirable.
- Willingness to work flexibly as part of a 24/7 over 365-days a year rota, including weekends, extended days, night shifts, and public holidays.
- Demonstrated ability to support less experienced staff and contribute to service development.
