Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a MARAC Coordinator based at University Hospital Crosshouse.

What you will do:

MARAC is a multi-agency risk assessment conference where partners from a number of agencies including police, health, social work services and independent domestic abuse services, come together to discuss and agree actions to support cases of high risk domestic abuse. A permanent position has arisen for a MARAC Coordinator, on 30 hours. The MARAC coordinator role is central to the smooth running of MARAC’s. This is a unique position which includes supporting agencies to fulfil their role in meetings, maintaining oversight of agendas, minutes and actions, performance monitoring and reporting. You will also have a role in delivering training for multi-agency staff in MARAC awareness and domestic abuse risk assessment. You will work closely with the MARAC chairpersons to achieve the aims of MARAC: improve safety of high risk domestic abuse victims, reduce repeat victimisation and improve agency accountability.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must be educated to degree level, have excellent communication skills and evidence of continued professional development. You will work with autonomy and professional discretion to prioritise and determine the daily co-ordination of activities. You will have sound knowledge of violence against women and girls and will have an understanding of the complexity of domestic abuse. The main base for the MARAC Team is Eglinton House, Ailsa Campus and a blended approach to work utilising distributed working practices is adopted
