Would you welcome the opportunity to work in a great rehabilitation team? Do you thrive on being involved in the delivery of quality occupational therapy and being challenged by complex situations? If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you to join a very supportive, multidisciplinary rehabilitation department.

The Occupational Therapy Team based at Cameron Hospital provides a high quality service to inpatients in the Adaptation and Recovery wards. We are looking for a full-time Band 6 Occupational Therapist with a genuine interest in inpatient rehabilitation and complex discharge planning.

You will have specialist clinical knowledge and experience working as an Occupational Therapist within a variety of clinical settings and rehabilitation services, possess excellent communication and decision making skills and have a positive approach to person centred care and multidisciplinary team working.

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will exhibit strong leadership and management skills, work alongside other Band 6 Occupational Therapists to influence and develop practice and take forward new initiatives and service improvements. You will have a responsibility to supervise and develop Occupational Therapy support staff as well as supporting the Team Lead and deputising in their absence.

The Occupational Therapy Service provides excellent formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provide a framework for encouraging CPD and promotes innovative practise.

Cameron Hospital is set among attractive grounds with ample green space and sitting areas. It is within easy reach of Central, South and West Edinburgh as driving is opposite the commuting traffic coming into the city. Cameron Bridge Railway Station is a 5 minute walk from the hospital.

The ability to travel around Fife is essential as you may be required to assist other rehabilitation services.

You must be HCPC Registered.

For informal enquiries, please contact Rebecca Hawkins, Lead Occupational Therapist, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, Cameron Hospital on 01592 226734.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
