NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 0800/30 to 1600/30
WESTMARC provides a range of rehabilitation technology services for the West of Scotland. This area includes six Health Boards and stretches from Oban in the north to Dumfries in the south, Falkirk in the east and the islands of the Inner Hebrides in the west. It serves over 52% of the Scottish population (about 2.6 million people) and as such has the biggest caseload of the five Scottish rehabilitation technology centres.
You will required to work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of wheelchairs and accessories and to collect used wheelchairs and accessories. You will be required to replace basic components e.g. Footrests, Armrests, Quick-Release wheels. Tightening fasteners such as screws, nuts and bolts where evidently loose.
You will be provided with in house training on wheelchair adjustments and replacement of basic parts along with training on power chair control systems.
You must have a clean UK driving licence, previous experience of small hand tools and effective written and verbal skills.
Must have basic computing skills and ability to work emails on a mobile device.
Knowledge of moving & handling experience and knowledge of health and safety would be desirable.
