As our Gaelic Development Co-ordinator you’ll play a vital role in promoting Gaelic throughout our organisation and to the wider public—through progressing the actions contained within the NHS Highland Gaelic Language Plan.

You’ll be our go-to for all things Gaelic, supporting initiatives and helping bring language to life in everything from websites to community events. Key responsibilities include:


  • Collating and editing content for internal and external publications
  • Updating Gaelic sections of the NHS Highland website and intranet as well as utilising social media channels to promote initiatives
  • Working with services and other partner organisations to maximise opportunities for engaging with Gaelic users
  • Encouraging feedback on Gaelic use within NHS Highland
  • Promoting the use of Gaelic throughout NHS Highland to colleagues and our communities
  • Promoting and co-ordinating learning opportunities for colleagues
  • Providing admin support across equality, diversity & inclusion portfolio
  • Supporting to launch our new Gaelic Staff Network

You bring creativity, organisation, and cultural awareness in equal measure. You should be confident and fluent in written and spoken Gaelic --but above all, you’re enthusiastic about driving engagement and making language accessible.

  • Keen eye for detail, with the ability to prioritise
  • Able to engage with people from all walks of life
