Midlothian AMH Psychological Therapies Service
We are delighted to invite applications for this opportunity to work in the Midlothian Psychological Therapies Service. We have 2 Band 8a maternity leave cover posts which are full-time and fixed-term, and are looking for enthusiastic and committed psychologists to support the further development of our service.
You will have a varied individual clinical caseload across the spectrum of psychological and mental health difficulties and be supported via individual and group supervision. There are also have opportunities to provide supervision within the service. Eligibility to supervise trainees/newly qualified practitioners is desirable but not essential. We offer a range of training and development opportunities, as well as collaboration on service developments. These include the growth of the group programme and development of treatment pathways for a population with complex psychological needs. We are also keen to promote the development of areas of special interest in a number of areas.
This role will have support links with other clinicians across the wider AMH services, as well as with a number of training programmes, including UoE DClinPsy, UoS CAAP and South of Scotland CBT. The service is also strongly linked to a wide range of mental health services within the Midlothian HSCP. The main base for this post is in Dalkeith, Midlothian, and is shared with a range of services, including psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, intensive home treatment, substance use, social work and criminal justice services. There are opportunities for indirect working and linking with these multidisciplinary colleagues to better support our population.
The department is supported by Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS), and there are reporting lines to the Service Director of Royal Edinburgh Associated Services (REAS), however all posts are managed within Psychological Therapies. This is led by the interim co-directors of Psychology with a team of senior staff who are committed to supporting and developing staff alongside quality improvement and other programmes that enhance the quality of care provided.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record.
