Band 5 Radiographer – Rotational Posts

Imaging Directorate – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Are you ready to launch or grow your radiography career in one of Scotland’s most dynamic healthcare environments? Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Band 5 Radiographer and become part of a forward-thinking team delivering high-quality imaging services across multiple hospital sites.

We are currently recruiting across all sectors, offering opportunities in Clyde, North, and South-West Glasgow.

We welcome applications from newly qualified and experienced Radiographers. Our rotational model offers exposure to a wide range of clinical settings—enhancing your skills in scheduled and unscheduled care including A&E, GP referrals, inpatient and outpatient services, and both elective and emergency theatre imaging.

Sector Rotations

Clyde Sector
Join the team at Royal Alexandra Hospital, with rotations at Inverclyde Royal Hospital or Vale of Leven Hospital with rotations in Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy, and Theatre.

North Sector
Join the team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, with rotations at New Stobhill Hospital, and Glasgow Dental Hospital, covering Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy, and Theatre.

South-West Sector
Join the team at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital – WOS Major Trauma Centre, with rotations at Gartnavel General Hospital (including the Beatson Oncology Centre) or New Victoria Hospital covering Plain Film, Mobiles, Fluoroscopy, and Theatre.

Professional Development

We actively support postgraduate study through our staff bursary programme, with pathways to MSc qualifications in CT, MRI, or Advanced Practice—often in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University or a university of your choice.

Our radiographers also benefit from:
- Weekly SOR-accredited CPD sessions via our Microsoft Teams channel (recorded for flexible access).
- Opportunities to participate in quality improvement groups across departments and MDTs.

Requirements

- Degree in Diagnostic Radiography / DCR
- HCPC registration (or working towards registration)
- Willingness to work 5/7 days, 365 days/year including public holidays, extended days, and nightshifts

Successful candidates will receive a structured induction and training programme to support their transition and growth.
