An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to lead the nursing team within ward 9 at Ninewells which is a 16 bedded Vascular ward which cares predominantly for patients within the sub-specialities of Vascular. The Senior Charge Nurse has clinical, professional and managerial responsibility for the ward on a 24-hour basis including all clinical and staff governance issues. The post-holder is responsible for maximising service provision, including the delivery of safe and effective clinical practice ensuring that all local and national standards and key performance indicators are adhered to and met.

You will have to have extensive post registration experience in a relevant acute adult surgical area, with proven skills in leading and managing teams to develop staff to deliver safe, effective person-centred care.


You should demonstrate an ability to provide a high standard of nursing care and proven ability to manage change through effective leadership. Applicants should enjoy working in a challenging environment. This role is pivotal in raising clinical standards of care for patients and managing local and national agendas.


Coaching and clinical supervision may be provided to help build the required leadership and management skills for the appropriate applicant.


You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
