Aonach Mor is a 14 bedded Rehabilitation unit, offsite from New Craigs Hospital, which provides assistance supporting people with mental health issues transition back into the community from hospital, learning new skills and re-establishing old skills in all areas of Activities of Daily Living. Our Multi-Disciplinary Team comprises medical, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy and psychology, with access to support from social work.

You would be working as part of a highly motivated and encouraging team, who adopt a person centred approach to care, always aiming for a positive patient experience of admission. The successful candidate will be motivated, demonstrate a commitment towards the continued development of patient focused care whilst fostering a therapeutic ward environment. This position would suit those who wish to extend and develop their nursing skills and be part of an evolving service that recognizes the diverse and complex needs of the person and their carers. The candidate will be required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision, supporting and supervising work undertaken by registered and unregistered nursing staff as well as taking charge in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse and the Team Leaders.

The role will also be responsible for proactively promoting partnership working with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.

Supervising the practice of others, undertaking mentorship / preceptorship responsibilities and supporting the Senior Charge Nurse to ongoing learning and development of the staff team are important aspects of this role. To apply for this post you must have a current UK NMC PIN and be registered as RMHN.

You will be able to demonstrate strong values, with good communication & team-working skills. An active interest in Community rehabilitation and mental health would be advantageous.
