Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Staff Nurse within our busy Day Surgery Unit based at Ayr Hospital.

What you will do:

Theatre: Includes making sure all equipment and accessories are available for surgery. Transferring patients from pre-op to theatre and then back to post-op after procedure. Inputting data into the computer. Ordering stock and monitoring stock levels.

DSU ward: Helping patients get ready for their procedures. Venepuncture, cannulation, bladder scan and monitor patients throughout the day. Ordering stock and monitoring stock levels.

Ophthalmology: Help get patients ready for their surgery. Ordering stock and monitoring stock levels. Monitoring patients following surgery.

Clinic: You will chaperone patients through examinations within the clinic room, check urinalysis, carry our flow and scans, phlebotomy and pregnancy tests where required. Handover to ward staff on ward admission.

BMS Ward: monitor patient throughout their stay. Carry out flow and scans, cannulation and venepuncture.

Diagnostic Room: Assist patient throughout procedure. Assist scrub nurse by opening required equipment.
