Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Fellow in Reproductive Medicine to join the friendly, highly‑experienced multidisciplinary team at the Aberdeen Centre for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM).

ACRM provides a comprehensive range of fertility services for both NHS‑funded and self‑funded patients across North East Scotland and the Highlands and Islands, and has a strong national and international reputation for clinical excellence, innovation, and research collaboration.

The role

The principal focus of this post is advanced clinical training and service delivery in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility management. Working under Consultant supervision, the successful candidate will play an active role in Fertility clinics, IVF services, and theatre activity, gaining experience across the full spectrum of assisted reproduction including IVF, ICSI, fertility preservation, gamete donation, and early pregnancy care.

This role includes protected, research time alongside clinical duties. The post holder will be expected to actively engage in research activity, audit, and quality improvement, with opportunities to collaborate with ongoing programmes within ACRM and the University of Aberdeen. This provides a valuable balance of advanced clinical experience and structured academic development within a highly research‑active centre.

The post includes participation in the ACRM on‑call and weekend rota and offers exposure to a mature, ISO‑accredited, HFEA‑licensed fertility service with established MDT working and structured teaching.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Hold MRCOG (or equivalent) and be GMC registered with a licence to practise
  • Have solid clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, with a strong interest in reproductive medicine
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated, reliable, and committed to delivering high‑quality patient‑centred care

Experience in infertility management, vaginal ultrasound, or assisted reproduction techniques is desirable but not essential.

What we offer

In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a highly respected fertility centre, alongside supportive and experienced professionals, with access to excellent educational activity, clinical governance involvement, and a genuinely collegiate working environment. Aberdeen also offers an excellent quality of life with outstanding amenities, transport links, and access to countryside and coastline.

This post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post). For more information visit www.gmc-uk.orgx
