An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Staff Nurse to join a well-established team in the West of Scotland Mother and Baby Unit. This is a permanent, full-time position. The shift pattern is long days - rotational day/night duty As part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of the West of Scotland Mother and Baby Unit, the post holder will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programmes of care. S/he will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards and clinical policies and without direct supervision. Participation in regular supervision with a named Band 6 or Band 7 senior nurse will be a critical aspect of the role.

Supervising the practice of, and demonstrating procedures to, student nurses and unqualified staff will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic nurse training.
