NHS Highland are seeking experienced International Nurses, with a background in acute and general medicine, from outside of the United Kingdom, who require to sit and pass their OSCE exam and obtain full NMC registration. This post is not open to candidates who already hold full NMC registration.

We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to join our team within the Combined Assessment Unit Ward at Belford Hospital, Fort William, on a various contract basis; we are committed to assisting you in achieving your UK NMC registration.

The Combined Assessment Unit (CAU), has 17 assessment beds, 2 general HDU beds, 10 day surgery beds, and a pre-assessment clinic 6 days. You will be primarily based in CAU, with development opportunities in EC, Day Case Unit and Pre Assessment Department.

As a valued member of the team you will be supported by regular appraisals, a personal development plan, and extensive training and development opportunities.

The Belford Hospital is situated in Fort William in Lochaber, the Outdoor Capital of the UK. The area is one of outstanding beauty offering opportunities for water sports, mountaineering and snow sports. Fort William itself lies at the head of Loch Linnhe and at the foot of Ben Nevis, the highest and most popular mountain in the British Isles with Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling all within a 2 -hour drive.

You are required to have successfully undertaken Test of Competence part 1 (CBT) and meet the English language requirements (required of your NMC application) prior to your application of practice.

As part of this exciting opportunity we will support you through a fully funded in-house, person-centred education programme to prepare for your NMC Test of Competence Part 2 (OSCE) exam and obtain your full UK NMC registration. A preparatory OSCE Education Programme will be delivered by the North of Scotland International Recruitment team in collaboration with NHS Highland.

You will have relevant and current experience in acute care (medical/surgical) with an enthusiastic and innovative approach to teamwork. Highly developed acute assessment skills and evidence of continuing professional development are essential with enhanced care knowledge desirable. Applications from newly qualified nurses will be welcome. Newly qualified nurses will be assigned a preceptor for the first year.

Successful candidates will commence as a Band 4 Pre-Registration (International) Nurse before progressing to Band 5 Registered Nurses.
