Speech and Language Therapist (Community)
West Lothian
Band 5
0.5 (18.5hrs) wte
Length of Contract – 28 weeks
There is an opportunity available for a fixed term, part time B5 Speech and Language Therapy post in the CYP SLT team in Community settings in West Lothian.
The clinical remit will be high quality Universal/Targeted and Individualised direct clinical care for CYP in community clinics, mainstream primaries and nurseries. It will include working closely with Education colleagues.
The postholder will clinically be based at one of the Health Centres in West Lothian and will also be expected to travel to other bases and schools as required and to work on Microsoft Teams and by phone.
The SLT service is innovative and supportive. It is committed to the principles of clinical governance to provide a high-quality service focused on the child’s needs. Support is provided for therapists in district based and clinically focused teams. All therapists have a personal development plan and are encouraged to extend their skills through a variety of CPD activities.
Applicants must be registered with HCPC.
Candidates should be able to provide at least one reference from a practising Speech and Language Therapist.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
