Healthcare Support Worker, BAND 3

With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.


An exciting opportunity for a permanent healthcare support worker post has arisen in ward 9. Ward 9 is a newly established 16 bedded vascular ward and we are looking for motivated individuals who are keen to develop their skills and join the team.


Ward 9 is a dynamic and innovative healthcare environment which provides acute and emergency care to patients presenting with a variety of vascular conditions. The post-holder will work with a range of services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care. This post provides an opportunity to develop new knowledge and skills within a small but diverse team.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that you are an effective communicator who works well within a team. You must have the ability and commitment to work as part of a team delivering high standards of patient care and continue to improve patient experience.

Experience in a caring environment would be desirable, although not essential; however you should have a flexible approach to working and an interest in dealing with a wide age range of people with a vascular disease. Excellent communication skills, basic numeracy skills and a caring and understanding nature are essential.

Hours will be worked over 7 days and include day and night rotation.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support

Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
