An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Forth Valley Prisons for the position of Pharmacy Technician. This post will cover all 3 NHS Forth Valley prisons.

The successful candidate must have the Diploma in Pharmacy Services qualification.

The role of The Pharmacy Technician is to:-

  • Undertake the provision of a range of technical pharmaceutical services within the area of responsibility under the direction of the Pharmacist who also provides clinical support and professional guidance.
  • Work alongside other members of the team to provide the cost effective use of medicines.
  • Comply with relevant procedures, standards and guidelines, Health and Safety at Work and COSHH regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with professional registration and Continuing Professional Development.
  • Assist with training and the supervision of less experienced staff as necessary to ensure a working knowledge of systems and processes is in place.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
