Infant Mental Health Clinical Psychologist/Child Psychotherapist, Band 8A, 0.6 WTE (22.2 hours per week)
We welcome applications from suitably experienced Clinical Psychologists and/or Child Psychotherapists to join NHS Tayside’s Infant Mental Health team. We work both directly with infants and their carers, and indirectly with the other services and professionals who support infants and carers.
The Infant Mental Health team is a small team (1.9 WTE clinical staff) and works in partnership with NHS colleagues, including Health Visiting and Family Nurse Partnership, Perinatal Mental Health and Maternity and Neonatal Psychology, and also with local authority services, and Third Sector colleagues. The Lead Clinician for Infant Mental Health is a consultant clinical psychologist and child psychotherapist, and this post is an integral part of continuing to develop services for the youngest members of our communities and their families, across Dundee, Angus and Perth & Kinross. The tasks of the post will involve some travel between different areas within Tayside.
NHS Tayside Psychological Therapies Service has a complement of around 160 clinical and applied staff with an additional 18 trainees. The Leadership Team comprises the Director, Deputy Director and 20 Consultants. The Service provides a friendly, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. There are excellent links and working relationships with Dundee, Perth & Kinross and Angus Health & Social Care Partnerships and the acute services of NHS Tayside. Together, we serve a population of 416,090, with approximately 10,000 children under the age of 3, and an annual birth rate of around 3,400. The Service is hosted within Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership.
We are committed to authentic leadership and have a strong culture of inclusion. The leadership team meets regularly, making time to address operational issues and professional development and this model is mirrored in each speciality for clinical staff. Further professional development is supported, which will in turn involve opportunities to teach and train other workers.
For those new to Tayside, the area is Scotland in microcosm: from the cities of Perth and Dundee to the Angus Glens, rural Perthshire, and a fantastic coastline, there really is something for everyone.
