Fixed Term – 22 months (Secondment opportunity)
This post is ideal for a candidate looking to use and develop computer/IT, technical and people skills with the Adult Learning Disability and Adult Mental Health populations in an established Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team.
You will be well supported as part of a SLT team working across Tayside with opportunities for developing your knowledge and skills in a range of specialist activities including technical support for therapists and support for clients with augmentative and alternative communication tools/devices (AAC), production of resources and materials, Accessible Information and training of care staff.
This service offers an extensive training programme to care staff in the NHS and partner organisations, which you will be supported to take part in.
There will be opportunities for supervised clinical work, which takes place in local community facilities, clients’ homes and workplaces. There will also be opportunities to take part in community drop-in groups working with therapists and other HCSWs and support the provision of universal communication work to clients in the community.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
