Director of Service Transformation, Planning and Performance

Executive Grade F - £106,955 to £141,596 per annum

The Role

The Director of Service Transformation, Planning and Performance is a senior leadership role, reporting into the Chief Executive and responsible for driving significant organisational change, at the primary-secondary care interface in NHS Lanarkshire. It is a pivotal role in shaping and influencing both the short- and long-term priorities across NHS Lanarkshire, ensuring sustainable plans are in place for the future of healthcare within Lanarkshire in line with the national reform frameworks – including the Service Renewal Framework and Public Health Framework.

The Director of Service Transformation, Planning and Performance is a key strategic leadership role providing strategic direction and leadership for planning, performance and service transformation, working across organisational boundaries and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to support integrated care and alignment of plans.

It is anticipated that this role will increase in scale and scope as service transformation takes place. For example, all Hospital at Home services could come under the scope of this post in the future as well as other services as the Interface Directorate expands to take on and deliver more services.

As a member of the Corporate Management Team the postholder will influence and drive the strategic direction and performance management of the organisation, contributing to the collective development and delivery of the Boards Annual Delivery Plan and Strategic plans. The Director of Service Transformation, Planning and Performance will fully contribute to and participate in the corporate management and governance of NHS Lanarkshire and contribute to the overall strategic objectives, direction, and performance of NHS Lanarkshire. The post will lead on developing and implementing a whole system programme of change to support the changes required in emergency and urgent care within our whole health system as well driving integrated planning across the organisation.

The role is suited to an ambitious professional with significant experience and evidence of delivery and performance within a strategic planning and/or service transformation role. You will be a resilient and inspirational leader with integrity at your core and be able to create a clear sense of purpose and be inclusive of stakeholders. This post presents an exciting opportunity to influence and shape the provision of health services in Lanarkshire. You will need to have the ability to influence thinking locally, regionally and nationally.

To excel in this role, you should be educated to degree level with a relevant postgraduate or equivalent experience/qualification. You must have an evidence-based track record of leading and delivering change in a large complex healthcare system or similar, and a commitment to working collaboratively with our stakeholders and with the Executive Leadership team to continue to develop our services for the population of Lanarkshire and beyond.
