An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated Addiction Nurse to join NHS Fife’s Addiction Services on a permanent basis. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol issues across Fife.

Role Summary

Addiction Services provide specialist treatment and support for people with substance use problems throughout Fife. Services are delivered from Whytemans Brae Hospital, Lynebank Hospital and Randolph Wemyss memorial Hospital. Covering Central, North East and West Fife. As an Addiction Nurse, you will work as part of a multi-professional team, undertaking comprehensive assessments and delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake assessment of care needs and develop, implement and evaluate care plans

• Provide harm reduction advice and support recovery-focused interventions

• Participate in prescribing clinics and needle exchange services

• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure integrated care delivery

The post is full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet service needs.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
