We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our South Glasgow Community Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team, which is part of the wider GGC Specialist Children’s Services. Within Specialist Children’s Services, Occupational Therapy is an integrated and valued part of the multidisciplinary team.

This is a permanent position, with the hours worked over 5 days (Monday – Friday).

The successful candidate will become part of the well-established and highly innovative community based team in the South of Glasgow, please note this position also covers East Renfrewshire. Due to the large demographic area we offer our services to, it is essential that the successful candidate has a UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work.

The role will involve providing high quality Occupational Therapy services to Children and Young People aged between 0-18 years old. You will work with children who have varying abilities, needs and conditions:

neurodevelopmental disorder, neurodisability and physical disability.

The post will involve completing Occupational Therapy assessments, goal setting, evidenced based interventions and reviews to support participation in everyday

While you will be based within The New Gorbals Health & Care Centre, the support provided to children may take place within their homes, nursery and school. You must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills when working with children, young people and their families. Additionally, you will be expected to build working relationships with multidisciplinary team colleagues, local schools and nurseries.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated team player with relevant clinical experience which can transfer to working within a busy paediatric Occupational Therapy service. Experience within Paediatrics is desirable but not essential as training and support for your professional development will be provided. You will be provided with a robust induction that includes both Occupational Therapy specific aspects and also multi-disciplinary team input. We are committed to providing regular supervision and you will be given the opportunity to access regular CPD opportunities.
