We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Police Custody Health Care (PCHC). This is a key role for the implementation and development of an effective Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) team delivering the clinical case management of a unique Police Custody Healthcare and Forensic service.

The Lead ANP will have developed highly specialist knowledge across a range of work practices and procedures underpinned by theoretical and practical knowledge and experience. As Lead ANP you will clinically and operationally lead, develop and supervise ANPs who will be educated at (or working towards) Masters Level in advanced practice and are assessed as competent in this level of practice. The areas of practise may include physical health, mental health and addictions services.

The Lead ANP will have demonstrable experience in managing staff, leading a team, providing education and training while establishing a supportive, cohesive, learning environment.

Applicants will be NMC registered, have significant experience working as an ANP, be formally recognised as an ANP with an appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice and recorded as a Nurse Independent/ Supplementary Prescriber (V300) with the NMC.

Knowledge and/or experience of delivering services with justice requirements would be advantageous, though not a requirement. Experience of service change, research and audit, quality improvement and development would be desirable.
