We are looking for an ambitious and motivated pharmacist to join the Acute Service Pharmacy Team within NHS Grampian. This encompasses Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin, Woodend hospital, Aberdeen Maternity hospital and The Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital where this post is based. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to co-lead a small and very diverse and highly skilled team and also to have a key role within the larger pharmacy leadership team.

The Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) opened in 2004 and is a purpose built facility with a high standard of equipment and excellent facilities for children, parents, and carers. The maternity hospital will move in 2027 into a new purpose built facility, named the Baird Family Hospital.

You will share the role as lead pharmacist with the existing team lead, who also works 18 hours per week, coordinating specialist clinical pharmacy and dispensary services to meet the needs of paediatric, neonatal and adult patients within women and child services. You will have strong links with the women and child services management team and will be required to work collaboratively and represent pharmacy. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to all clinical specialities and you will take a lead in developing pharmaceutical care. You will be a highly experienced pharmacist with excellent clinical knowledge and will be able to work effectively as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment. You will also be required to take an active role in the supervision and training of staff and students, to act as a role model and to participate in audit and research.

You will ideally be an Independent prescriber.
