Fixed Term/Secondment 23 months


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Band 5 Community Registered Nurse post to cover a secondment within Angus Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (AIDARS). We would welcome a Registered Nurse to work within our multi-disciplinary team in AIDARS. The post offers the opportunity to work, across multiple clinical interfaces, encompassing primary and secondary care clinical settings including, Nurse Led Clinics, patient homes and primary care services, as well as multi-disciplinary interfaces with statutory and third sector partners.

The post holder will work in partnership with the AIDARS Multidisciplinary Team, consisting of Nurses, Non-Medical Prescriber, Medical Staff and social workers to provide person centred care and treatment to people and their families affected by substance use.


Responsibilities of the role will include: -

Managing own caseload within a defined geographical area.

Carrying out person centred assessments to agree recovery focussed care plans for people experiencing problematic substance use.

Participation in Duty Worker rota for AIDARS: acting as single point of contact for referrals; identify, prioritise, and make decisions regarding the most appropriate service for referrals.

Fostering a multi-disciplinary approach to care assessment and care planning.

Liaising with partner agencies and services as appropriate.


Current NHS Tayside employees - written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
