Applications are open for this fixed term post unitl August 2026 within the Department of General Surgery at University Hospital Crosshouse. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a welcoming, forward thinking department.

This position would be suitable for candidates who have completed core surgical training and wish to further develop their CV prior to applying for higher specialty training.

Doctors within this role will be expected to participate in elective work such as outpatient clinics, operating lists and endoscopy in addition to general surgery emergency care. If appointed you will provide out of hours on call commitments to the middle tier general surgery rota.

The successful applicant will have a dedicated clinical supervisor and will be encouraged to use the ISCP portfolio to document their surgical logbook and learning. The appointed candidate will be expected to participate in audit, education and quality improvement projects within the department.

The appointment will be whole time until August 2026. A band 2B supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and emergency duty commitments, and will be based on a salary range of £45,504 - £71,550 The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
