Donor Services Clinical Support Officer – Clinical Support Team

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About the Organisation:
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post:
This post will be based in the Clinical Support Team, is a national post and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training will take place at one of our designated bases.

The Candidate:
We are recruiting an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person to undertake this challenging and interesting post providing a frontline advisory service to donors along with the administrative duties associated with the collection of blood and blood products.
You should be customer focussed and have a friendly telephone manner and be willing to work as part of a team.

Candidates must be educated to higher grade level and have excellent key board skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access software packages. You must also possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to multitask and be able to work under pressure. Previous relevant healthcare/donor care experience is advantageous.

You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours if required.

Location and Working Pattern:
The post will be based at either Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh or Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow. Currently hybrid working.

Monday to Friday

1 x 36 hours per week
1 x 22.2 hours per week
