Care Home Education Facilitator, NHS Grampian (Band 6)
Location: NHS Grampian – Office Base negotiable
4 days/28.8 hrs per week (Permanent)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS Grampian as a Band 6 Care Home Education Facilitator on a permanent basis. Hosted by the Health and Social Care Partnership Practice Education & Development Team, this role plays a vital part in supporting high‑quality learning experiences within Care Homes across Grampian. As this post supports the whole of NHS Grampian, your base location is negotiable, with current team bases in Moray, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. The role will involve regular travel across the Grampian area.
About the role
Working in partnership with another Care Home Education Facilitator, you will help sustain and expand the number of Care Homes that support students in practice. You will have a key role in enhancing the quality of the clinical learning environment, providing education, guidance and developmental support to care home staff. You will work autonomously and collaboratively, building strong relationships with nursing and managerial colleagues at all levels. Through your influence, expertise and enthusiasm, you will support innovation, implement change and promote continuous improvement in practice learning.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking a registered Nurse with current NMC registration who can demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at Band 5 or above, including supporting, supervising and assessing learners
- Experience as a Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor is essential
- A genuine interest in supporting Care Homes and their workforce
- The ability to motivate, influence and lead change, using strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills
- Experience in the facilitation of learning in practice

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
