As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive pharmacy technicians to join our pharmacy team at St John’s Hospital a renowned teaching hospital with a reputation for excellence. In this role, you will undertake duties such as:

• Support aseptic, clinical and technical services on a rotational basis with duties including preparation of medicinal products, labelling preparation and supply of medication, final accuracy check of and release of prescriptions, compiling medication histories to support medicines reconciliation process and the ordering and receipting of medicines.
• Support the training and development of new pharmacy staff, trainees and other healthcare staff, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
• Collaborate with senior pharmacy technicians on service improvement initiatives to optimize the efficiency of medicine supplies throughout the hospital.

About You:

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Possession of a National Certificate in Pharmacy Services and Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent
• A strong commitment to improving patient care through proactive, evidence-based pharmaceutical services
