The role:

The Rehabilitation Support Worker is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team providing essential support to professional and senior staff. The post holder will be delegated appropriate tasks by professionally qualified team members including: Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapist, Nurses, Podiatrist and Pharmacist.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a full-time post of 37 hours per week, working the following hours:

Current working pattern:
Monday to Wednesday: 8.30am – 4.30pm
Thursday and Friday: 8.30am – 4.15pm

From April 2026: Monday to Thursday 8.30am until 16: 15pm and 8.30am until 16:00pm on a Friday

This post will be based at Maryhill Health Centre, 51 Gairbraid Avenue, G20 8FB

Key responsibilities:

The post holder will assist those professionals working under their supervision and guidance in undertaking both clinical and non-clinical tasks.

It is expected that the assistant will work independently with patients in a range of settings working predominantly with individuals in their own home, Care home settings and community based locations within the agreed rehabilitation/intervention plan.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • A formal qualification in written English and numeracy.

  • Relevant experience in rehabilitative care and working in the community.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Accurate and effective observation skills.

  • Positive interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The ability to work independently to deliver interventions as delegated by a professional.

  • Familiarity with word processing, email, and internet applications.

  • The ability to work well with others and contribute to a supportive team environment.

  • A current driving licence.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
