The Role

Are you passionate about helping people learn, grow, and thrive at work? Do you enjoy designing, developing and delivering high‑quality learning? If so, we’d love you to join us as a Learning & Development Advisor (Fixed Term – 12 Months) within NHS Lanarkshire.

This temporary post has a specific focus on key digital learning initiatives. You will play a key role in reviewing, refreshing and organising NHS Lanarkshire’s digital learning content to ensure it is accurate, current and aligned with organisational needs. A key focus will be the creation, curation, and management of e‑learning content and digital learning platforms to support organisational priorities and enhance the learning experience for our 15,000 colleagues.

You will provide expert advice on learning and development matters, respond to complex system queries, and play an active role in shaping and supporting L&D projects and working groups.

In this key role, you will:

  • Working collaboratively as part of the Organisational Development Team to ensure high‑quality learning and e‑learning content is available to support the Learning Strategy, Learning Plan and Corporate Objectives.
  • Proactively leading the development and maintenance of the corporate induction e‑learning module for new staff.
  • Working with Subject Matter Experts to plan, develop, review and update NHS Lanarkshire’s full e‑learning catalogue, ensuring version control and timely review cycles.
  • Supporting the design, development and ongoing improvement of digital learning technologies and platforms, including content upload and management.
  • Evaluating and reviewing learning programmes to ensure they remain current, engaging and aligned to organisational needs.

What You'll Bring:

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience in learning, development and/or digital/ e-learning
  • Experience in design/developing, delivering, evaluating and maintaining a range of learning programmes, such as induction, communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer care
  • Experience of developing e-learning
  • Professional qualifications appropriate to post – e.g. Certificate in Training Practice, CIPD, Certificate in E- Learning Content Development courses, Digital Learning Design
  • Displays initiative and enthusiasm for learning & development

A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
