Fixed Term/Secondment for 1 year
With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a ‘Development Team Leader / Interfaces Technical Lead’ to join NHS Tayside’s Digital Directorates Interfaces Development Team, which makes up part of Development Services within the Digital Directorate.
As the Interfaces Technical Lead you will be responsible for supporting team deliverables as well as evolving the teams capabilities. Candidates should have at least two years of system integrations experience, including the architecting and building of interfaces.
What we are looking for:
You should have knowledge and capabilities in the following areas:
System & Interfacing Architecture / Design
- Soap & REST Web Services Development
- HL7 / HL7 FHIR
- Interface Testing / Debugging
- InterSystem IRIS / Ensemble Development (inc. Object Script)
- Implementation and Support of Interface Solutions
You should also have capabilities in the following areas:
- Team Leadership and Mentoring
- CI/CD Processes inc. Automated Testing
- JavaEE experience would be beneficial
This role will include the above but is not restricted to these responsibilities and a willingness to evolve and adapt to any new technology or practices is necessary.
What we will give you:
The postholder will have a degree of autonomy within their role working alongside the Interfaces Manager, reporting to the Development Teams Service Delivery Manager. Training relevant to the role will be provided, with opportunities for professional development within the wider directorate.
This is a Fixed Term, full-time post (37 hrs per week) for 1 year within the Digital Directorate, based in the MacKenzie Building, Ninewells Hospital Campus. As we aim to provide an environment that encourages work/life balance, flexible working arrangements may be considered.
Current NHS Tayside Employee’s - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview
