An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Specialist post within the Infection Prevention and Control Team with an NHS Tayside remit, including care homes. Although these posts will have a Tayside remit, they will be based initially in Ninewells with the holder covering Tayside locality.

We require a first level registered nurses with experience and interest in prevention of infection. The post holder will participate in the clinical management of patients with infections and provide specialist advice, support and education. Together with other members of the Infection Prevention and Control Team, you will work within the context of infection Prevention and Control strategies, policies and procedures with focus on quality improvement to improve the health of the population of Tayside NHS Board area, with particular emphasis on prevention and management of healthcare associated infection.

This is an ideal opportunity to develop in the specialist field of infection prevention and control, and you should be able to manage your own time effectively, work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful applicant must be prepared to undertake further career development in infection prevention and control as required.

Applications are invited from candidates who are registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register and who possess a recognised academic qualification in Infection Prevention and Control Nursing, or equivalent experience. Applicants should also have relevant clinical nursing experience with a broad range of clinical skills and currently be working as a registered nurse in a healthcare setting.

Candidates must have good interpersonal and management skills and be committed team players.

The ability to travel across the locality is essential.
