Finance Summer Student

Band £25,694 to £27,900 per annum

Plus £1,406 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

36 Hours per Week

Fixed Term Contract for Summer up to 4 months


The Finance Department provides advice and support to managers on all financial matters, ensures that all statutory and reporting requirements are met, a proper system of financial control is in place and accounts for all financial transactions.

We require a summer student to assist the Finance team with a range of tasks that will include:

- Recording transactions on the electronic ledger system.

- Scanning of invoices ready for payment.

- Assistance with the debt control and recovery process, including making phone calls.

- Spreadsheet work in Excel including reconciliations of financial information.

This placement would be suitable for those that are studying finance, administration, business or a management related subject. You must have good IT skills and experience in the use of Excel. You will be required to be methodical with a good eye for detail and accuracy.

You will need excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner. It is essential that you can maintain confidentiality as you may be dealing with sensitive, personal information.
