The Department of Ophthalmology, based at Ninewells Hospital, is a well‑established, high‑performing service within both the region and the organisation. As part of a university teaching hospital, the department delivers comprehensive ophthalmology services and supports a wide range of sub‑specialty interests that have achieved both national and international recognition. As a teaching hospital at the forefront of ophthalmic care, the department offers excellent opportunities for academic development, including Quality Improvement (QIP), Health Services Research (HSR), and publication in care delivery and quality‑focused papers.
