The Role
First level registered nurse, AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology, providing specialist psychological therapies service to patients with mental health presentations referred to secondary or specialist mental health services. The post holder is responsible for, and has a high level of autonomy in the assessment, formulation, prescribing and delivery of psychological therapies treatment and care to patients on a defined case load, with decision making responsibility for evaluation and discharge from treatment or referral on to other agencies. You work as a member of the multidisciplinary team and have a responsibility to provide clinical supervision to other qualified practitioners and practitioners in training. You also have a responsibility for training and education of others and actively planning and participating in research within the clinical service. The post holder will be expected to carry out delegated tasks by line manage/operational lead.
In this key role, you will:
- Responsible for the autonomous assessment, formulation, prescribing and delivery of specialist psychological therapies to people with moderate and severe mental health problems on a one-to-one or group basis. Responsibility for clinical decision making for patients on case load in relation to discharge of patients from treatment or referral on to other agencies
- Deliver evidence based psychological therapies as identified through the National Psychological Therapies Matrix
- Implement Integrated Care Pathways for individual patients as appropriate
- Support and assist the Team Manager locality coordinator / head of department in the delegation of clinical work to practitioners in the team as appropriate.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Nurse, AHP or Social Worker or be a qualified as a child trained Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) evidence of relevant experience and appropriate post registration training that fulfils the competences of this post
- Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
- Educated to /operating at Masters Degree Level.
- Educated to or undertaking Post Graduate Certificate / Diploma Qualification level in an evidence based psychological therapy/appropriate intervention as recognised in the National Psychological Therapies Matrix for the intended client group.
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
