The Neonatal unit is a busy level 3 50 bedded ITU/HDU/SC. Working as a Staff Nurse within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day.   • The shift pattern for this post is on a rotational basis of long days and long nights, including public holidays
  • Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
  • This is a fixed-term post until 18/04/2027

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate high‑quality nursing care for patients of varying dependency levels
  • Maintain accurate, detailed patient records to agreed standards
  • Contribute to developing programmes of care and advise junior staff on managing complex patient groups
  • Provide individualised, family‑centred care that respects cultural and spiritual needs
  • Support seamless care by promoting effective links between hospital and community services
  • Delegate appropriately, considering staff capabilities and skill mix

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Registered Nurse on the NMC Register
  • You must demonstrate evidence of ongoing clinical development and awareness of NHGGG policies and strategies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to write accurate reports and maintain high‑quality documentation
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload in a busy clinical environment
  • Team‑working skills and the ability to recognise personal limitations
  • You should demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
