We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and clinically confident Deputy Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team within our Adult Mental Health Inpatient Service in Ward 4. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse who is passionate about delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and is ready to take the next step in leadership.

As a Deputy Charge Nurse, you will support the Senior Charge Nurse in the day‑to‑day running of the ward, providing visible leadership, supporting staff development, and ensuring safe and effective delivery of care within a busy acute mental health environment. You will play a key role in clinical decision‑making, patient flow, risk management, and maintaining high standards of care.

Hours of work: 12 hour shift pattern day/night rotation. During periods of Senior Charge Nurse on annual leave, the post‑holder will be required to work 07:30–15:30.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
